Dandelion books are a series of Synthetic Phonic reading books. They are particularly suitable for beginner readers and children who need extra support when learning to read. These books have dylsexia friendly font on a cream background. The Extended Phonic Code series introduces the various spellings for each sound. Books in these series cover the vowel sounds and introduce the concept that the same sound can have alternative spellings. The Level 2 series is a set of fourteen books. Each book reinforces the spelling of a sound learnt in Level 1, alongside two or three alternative spellings for the same vowel sound. Book 8 teaches the spelling <igh, i, y> for the sound 'ie'
