Programs for Kids

Babytime/Toddlertime/Storytime

Do you have a 0-5 year old? Join us at the Library as we build the foundations of literacy through singing and reading.

Babytime: A 30 minute program of rhyming, singing and reading. Suitable for 0-2 year olds.

Toddlertime: A 30 minute program of songs, stories and movement activities, held on Fridays at Springwood. Suitable for 18 months to 3 year olds.

Storytime: A 45 minute program of stories, singing and craft. Suitable for 3-5 year olds.

All the Library’s pre-school programs are designed to be flexible in their age ranges as children learn and interact differently and grapple with the challenges of concentration and sitting still! They are delivered by friendly, professional staff who aim to help your child learn to love books and literature, interact with other children and explore creativity.

Kid Librarian of the Month Program

Would your child like to be one of our Kid Librarians of the Month? We are looking for young book lovers to review 3-5 books from our library collection and recommend them to their peers. Their reviews, along with their photo, will be featured on a poster displayed in all six of our library branches for a month. They will also receive a personal copy of the poster and have their reviews turned into stickers inside the recommended books.

As a token of appreciation for their participation, they can nominate a book for our collection, which we will purchase for others to enjoy. To participate, simply complete the form and return it to your local branch or email to bmlibrary@bmcc.nsw.gov.au
