Library membership entitles you to borrow materials from any of the six Blue Mountains Library branches as well as access to online Library resources. It also entitles you to free limited Internet access within the library. Membership applications can be completed at any library branch or online. Current I.D with proof of address is required.

Joining the Library

Membership is free to all residents, ratepayers and also non-residents who work or go to school in the Blue Mountains area.

Library members agree to abide by the Library User Guidelines

Membership types

Non-residents may apply for reciprocal membership if appropriate, or temporary membership which is subject to a fee.

Junior membership applications require parent/guardian signature and proof of relationship (such as a Medicare card). The parent/guardian accepts responsibility for items borrowed on the card.

Extended Loan Membership is offered to borrowers who are genuinely homebound and unable to visit the library without assistance and borrowers who have difficulties reading and/or handling print material on a permanent or temporary basis (ie. through vision impairment, learning difficulties, illness or physical disability). An Eligibility for Extended Loan Membership referral form must be completed with their medical practitioner, health care professional or care provider/facility.

If you are a local resident and you are unable to get to our Library branches due to frailty, illness, living with disability or caring duties we can deliver library items to your door for free. See the Home Library Service page for details.
