Summary:
An Aboriginal girl is adopted by a white woman on a Northern Territory cattle station. She is called Jedda, after a wild bird. Although brought up as a white child she feels the pull of strong spiritual ties with her people. These impulses become focused through her attraction to Marbuck, an Aboriginal full-blood. He takes her away from the station a frightened, but half-willing captive. Australia's first colour feature was filmed on location under difficult conditions in Central Australia
