Understanding Kanopy's Ticketing System
Kanopy offers a curated streaming experience, and its ticketing system ensures fair access while supporting a wide range of titles. Here's how it works for BMCC Library members:
Monthly Ticket Allotment
Each library member receives 15 tickets per month, refreshed automatically on the 1st day of each month. Unused tickets do not roll over, so make the most of your monthly limit!
Using Tickets
- Each film or series uses between 1 and 5 tickets, depending on its length and licensing terms.
- Ticket cost is displayed clearly on each title’s page, so you’ll know before you press play.
- Once you start watching a title, the required tickets are deducted from your balance.
Viewing Period
- After you’ve started a title, you can rewatch it as many times as you like within the viewing window (typically 3 or 7 days).
- No additional tickets are used during the viewing period.
- You can even filter titles by ticket cost and viewing window for smarter browsing.
Unlimited Access with Kanopy Kids
Good news for families: Kanopy Kids is ticket-free and viewing-window-free, so you can stream children’s content anytime without using your monthly tickets.
