Fields: Upload Data Files
Upload Data Files allows you to upload DiXML, PDF, non-ILS MARC, and Library Favorites data files to a repository on the Portfolio server. Uploading data files to the Portfolio server allows you to index the data and make it available for patrons to search.
Search Configuration > Discovery Search Sources > Discovery Source Sites > Upload Files
You can also view a list of any files that have already been uploaded to the Portfolio server for that Discovery source site.
Discovery Source Name
Displays the name of the Discovery search source for which you are editing a Discovery source site.
Discovery Source Site Name
Displays the name of the Discovery source site to which you are uploading the data file.
Browse
Lets you browse for a file to upload to the Portfolio server for that Discovery source site. Click Browse to display the file browsing window and browse to the location where the file that you want to upload is stored, Choose the file, then click OK. After you specify the file to that you want to upload, Portfolio displays the path to the location where the file is stored in the entry field.
Upload
Copies the specified file to the directory on the Portfolio server that corresponds with the Discovery source. Any files that you upload will remain on the server until they are deleted from the directory. After you upload the file, the relative path to the uploaded file on the Portfolio server displays in the Uploaded File URL field.
Note: If you try to upload a file that has the same name as a file that already exists on the Portfolio server, the uploaded file is renamed when it is placed on the server to avoid overwriting the existing file. The renamed file will have a number added to the beginning of the original file name. For example, if you upload the logo.png file, and a file by that name already exists in that directory, the file you are uploading will be renamed to 1logo.png when it is placed on the server.
Uploaded File URL
Provides a hyperlinked path to the location on the where you uploaded the file.
Note: If you have not uploaded any files for this Discovery source site, this information does not display.
Note: If you have previously uploaded a file for this Discovery source site, Portfolio displays the hyperlinked path to the file on the server.
See all uploaded files
Provides a hyperlinked path to the location where any files for this Discovery source site have been uploaded. Clicking on the link opens a new browser window or tab and displays the file listing.
