This is largely down to the fact that it’s a highly skilled art form requiring a lot of time and effort to become proficient at, of course, but also because there’s a lot of myth and mystique surrounding this particular area of audio engineering that can be deeply intimidating for the novice and even somewhat off-putting to more experienced hands
