Wednesday 17th April 2024. 10:00am – 11:00am. Springwood Hub. $6

Dive into the world of dynamic poses and lively characters!

Learn the magic of capturing movement and emotion through expressive figure drawing, and create a sculpture inspired by the art of Alberto Giacometti.

All materials will be provided by the library.

This workshop is suitable for children in Kindy - Year 6.


Paracord Bracelet - Springwood

DIY Cardboard Dress-up - Katoomba

Friday 19th April 2024. 10:00am – 11:30am. Katoomba Library. $6

Using simple materials like paper and cardboard create your own playful dress-up outfits and props.

A laid-back and imaginative session where kids can let their creativity shine while having fun with hands-on crafting.

Parents are encouraged to stay and help their child so they get the most out of the session – plus you’ll have fun.

All materials will be provided by the library.

This workshop is suitable for children in Kindy - Year 2.


DIY Cardboard Family Dress-up - Blaxland

Wednesday 24th April 2024. 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Blaxland Community Hall. $10 family ticket

Using simple materials like paper and cardboard work together as a family to make playful dress-up outfits and props.

A laid-back and imaginative session where kids can let their creativity shine while having fun with hands-on crafting.

This event is for the whole family. Yes, adults, that means you'll be getting your craft on as well.

All materials will be provided by the library.

Family tickets are for up to 5 people and must include at least 1 adult but you don't need to all be related.


Drop-in Contraptions - Springwood Hub

Tuesday 16th April 2024. 11:30am – 1:00pm. Springwood Hub. FREE. No booking required.

Be inspired by Whalebone at Springwood Theatre before heading to the foyer to create your own contraption out of recyclables and craft supplies.
The Library team will be on hand to assist you with the use of the materials.
Adults need to stay with their children. All materials will be provided.


Living Stories Writing Workshop: Ages 10 - 15 years

Does the idea of seeing your name at the top of a page of great writing full of terrific ideas thrill you? Would you like to be able to write better, and to learn from the best?

WestWords and WestLit Libraries, as part of the 2024 Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize, are offering free 90-minute creative writing workshops hosted by a local professional writer to help improve your craft in short story and poetry. These workshops will also help you generate ideas to create an entry piece of writing for the Living Stories Writing Prize.

These workshops will also help you generate ideas to create an entry piece of writing for the Living Stories Writing Prize.

Collaborative Creations: Library Lizards

Saturday 13th April - Sunday 28th April. Branch hours. All Libraries. Free

We’re celebrating the lovely lizards of the Blue Mountains at the Library.

Each branch will decorate their own distinctive lizard using old magazines and coloured paper. Drop in to a branch anytime during the school holidays and ask our friendly staff for materials.

Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult when in the library.
