Beaded Bugs - Springwood

Monday 8th July 2024. 10:00am – 11:00am. Springwood Hub. $6

Create enchanting dragonflies and butterflies using vibrant beads, flexible wire, and colourful pipe cleaners.

All materials will be provided by the library.

This workshop is suitable for children in Kindy - Year 6.


Let's Draw an Adventure - Katoomba

Tuesday 9th July 2024. 10:00am – 11:00am. Katoomba Library. $6

Where are we going today? Are we hiking up a volcano to capture a magical tiger who we will bring home to be our pet? That sounds like a wonderful idea!

If you love drawing and using your imagination come along for an hour of fun and creativity with local artist and illustrator Bill Hope and leave with a drawing of the best adventure ever!

All materials will be provided by the library.

This workshop is suitable for children in Kindy - Year 6.


Still Life Comes Alive - Katoomba

Tuesday 9th July 2024. 11:30am – 12:30pm. Katoomba Library. $6

Interested in learning how to draw the world around you? In this class local artist and illustrator Bill Hope will guide you through a classic still life drawing exercise with a twist! We will learn some techniques for drawing objects in a realistic way then we'll mess it all up by adding in some ideas from our imagination. Will that bowl of fruit be growing legs and running away? Will all the bananas sprout wings and start flying? It's up to you!

All materials will be provided by the library.

This workshop is suitable for children in Year 5 - Year 10.

Mini-Beasts Workshop - Springwood

Friday 19th July 2024. 10:00am – 11:10am. Springwood Hub. $6

Join Jacqui Love from Travelbugs Mobile Minibeasts for a fun, interactive hands-on minibeasts experience, featuring a colourful curation of large, live Australian invertebrate animals such as insects, arachnids and more! Learn about special physical adaptations, fascinating life cycles and how we can help these amazing animals within our ecosystems. Supervised handling of harmless animals included!

Children must be aged between 5 and 12 to attend this workshop.


Collaborative Creations: Community Colouring-In

Saturday 6th July - Sunday 21st July. Branch hours. All Libraries. Free

Colour a single piece of paper, add it to the library wall and watch as our community artwork is revealed. Drop in to a branch anytime during the school holidays and ask our friendly staff for materials.

Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult when in the library.
