“There's no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books.”

National Simultaneous Storytime and online Storytime launch

National Simultaneous Storytime

National Simultaneous Storytime is coming to the Blue Mountains, with a very special guest reader, Mayor Mark Greenhill.

The Mayor will read Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas! at 11am on Wednesday 27 May, joining libraries, childcare centres, preschools and bookshops across Australia who will all be reading the same story together.

Be part of National Simultaneous Storytime with Mayor Greenhill at 11am Wednesday 27 May on Facebook.

This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime event will also launch Blue Mountains Library’s new weekly online Storytime program.

National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual initiative of Australian Library and Information Association, and is now in its 20th year. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously, across the country.

Kids At The Library

The Blue Mountains Library offers a wide range of resources and services for children throughout the community. These resources cover all reading levels from Picture and 'Easy' books for very young children to those recommended for young adults.
